Keep in mind that Friday's program is geared toward the continued education of service providers. Please indicate in the space provided whether you have presented the topic before, and if CLEs/CLUs were offered with attendance. Depending on scheduling, we may request that you present both Friday and Saturday if the topic will also benefit the larger community, and we will consider this as space allows. DEADLINE FOR PROPOSAL SUBMISSION IS WEDNESDAY, MARCH 31, 2010! Need ideas? Have any questions, comments, or concerns? Please direct them to Milo Primeaux at milo (at) transohio[dot]org Interested in being a Sponsor of this year's Symposium? Email Shane Morgan for Sponsorship packets (shane@transohio.org) -------------------- I (Chris Paige) got this reply when inquiring about spirituality themes: To answer your question, while we are not affiliated with any church/religion/spirituality, we recognize those aspects to be important to the growth and well-being of transgender people, and the fellowship of the community. We have worked with churches throughout Columbus on non-discrimination policies and their openness to welcoming transgender folks into their congregations. We also collaborate with several local churches to host the Transgender Day of Remembrance, dances/fundraisers, and other events. Also, we co-sponsored the tour of "Call Me Malcolm", a documentary about a transman serving in the ministry of the United Church of Christ. Last year, in our 2nd Annual Transgender & Ally Symposium, we had an entire 'topic track' of workshops aimed toward spiritual and personal growth, and sincerely hope to expand on that topic this year at the 3rd Annual Symposium in August. So, in short, we are very welcoming to receiving proposals on this topic, from Christian and non-Christian angles alike. Please, by all means, encourage proposals on this topic! All will be considered seriously, and responded to as soon as possible. Instigator-in-Chief, TransFaith Network
